Many people have the idea that go karts are like the bumper karts they rode at the theme park or fair when they were kids. However, the go karts available today are extremely fast and require precision driving. In fact, racing fast go karts on tracks is one of the ways that people get into racing without the risks and cost of racing cars. Often people will develop their skills in go karts before they go on to get involved in auto racing.
Getting involved in fast racing on the track is usually quite easy. Simply start looking for racing tracks in your area. In some cases, you may be able to rent a go kart to see what your skills are like. However, if you really want to get involved in racing, you’ll probably want to invest in a go kart of your own.
When it comes to racing fast on the track in go karts, three different types of racing are available. One option is Enduro racing, which include road course circuits that can be from 1.5 miles up to four miles. Spring racing is another option, with road course circuits that are only 3/8 or ¾ of a mile. Oval racing includes ovals made of asphalt or dirt and are usually only about 1/10 of a mile to ¼ mile long.
